Volunteer Opportunities
New Members Needed for the Committee of Management
Would you like to contribute your skills and experience to build and strengthen your community? If so, we would love to hear from you. We rely on volunteers with a range of backgrounds and life experience to join our Committee of Management, which meets at 7pm on the first Tuesday of the month, in a governance role. Contact us for further details.
Heritage Project
Sue Barnett is the Coordinator of the Surrey Hills Heritage Collection. Sue is assisted by a small group of dedicated volunteers. If you're interested in joining this group, please contact the Centre on 9890 2467 or enquiries@surreyhillsnc.org.au .
The current focus of work on the collection is cataloguing it onto the specialised computer database, DbTextworks (‘In Magic’), which is used by many small museums and repositories in Victoria. Purchase of this program was made possible through a Public Record Officer (PRO) Local History Grant. Cataloguing the collection will be an ongoing project for a number of years and we are seeking new volunteers with an interest in history to assist with this project.
Table Tennis
We are seeking a volunteer to assist with overseeing a small, friendly group of table tennis players on Monday evenings at 8pm.
Deliverers Required
Volunteers are needed to assist with the delivery of the Neighbourhood News, published 6 times a year, to all areas of Surrey Hills. Get fit while walking around your local neighbourhood!!
If you would like to find out more on any of the above voluntary roles, please contact us on 9890 2467 or by our email enquiries@surreyhillsnc.org.au.
