the Garden Wall |
Surrey
Hills Neighbourhood Centre has been awarded funding from the
Department of Planning and Community Development under the
Images of Age Grant 2008. Our project focuses on gardening
and it connects 20 seniors from across Boroondara with a variety
of artists including oral historians, Julie Morrison and Ann
Scally; artist Jo Reitze and film maker, Gary Hegedus.
The role of gardening in each of the participants' lives is
documented. Each participant has an oral history recorded,
is photographed in his / her garden, creates a photographic
garden diary and has their garden or an element of it painted.
Filming in some of the gardens will feature in a documentary
film of the project.
